Second Week in OZ

On Sunday April 20th Jenny and I flew to Perth to see Tim and Jules, who moved from Townsville to Perth 6 months ago. Despite our Qantas plane being delayed 4 hours, we had an awesome afternoon in Fremantle. We went to see a few beaches, then to the Loft Bar, above Little Creatures Brewery, then downstairs for dinner in the Brewhouse. We had lovely gourmet pizzas and mussels, plus some nice boutique beers.

Monday we went to Fremantle, it was a gorgeous sunny day, and we opted for a beach crawl, from South Beach up to the northern beaches. The water is so crystal clear, and gorgeouse aqua green colour. It was 22 degrees both outside and in the water, way too cold for most Aussie’s, I was one of the few people in the water.

At the end of the day we went to Oyster Bar, a really cool bar on the beach, the perfect location to watch the sunset. Dinner was at the Guildford Hotel, a gorgeous hotel with $10 seafood marinara.

Tuesday April 22nd – Winery day! Tim and Jules live 10 mins from wine country at Swan Valley. First stop was Sandalford, then Lancaster, Margaret River Chocolate Factory, Maash Brewery, Feral Brewery and Hougton’s.

Wednesday Jenny was flying home, then I was going onto Brisbane to catch up with my school friend Krista, her husband Mark, and their two kids Angus and Hugo.

Thursday was spent hanging out in sunny Brisbane with Krista and her family. Their new house is going to be spectacular, with a perfect riverside location. The boys are just gorgeous, very cute, and so well behaved, it was a pleasure being around them. Angus is a more sensitive soul, that would rather play snakes and ladders than throw balls outside, whereas Hugo is the daredevil, with no fear down hills on his brothers scooter.

Friday I was back in Sydney, Anzac Day, when we remember people who died in the war. We had some friends around in the afternoon and Dads family in the evening.

Saturday April 26th – Finally a SUNNY DAY in Sydney!!! Yahoo! Better head to Palm Beach for a swim, walkabeachie and picnic (yes, we even had great wine!)
